School Profile

 Dear Parents and Students,

As the new principal, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Washington Elementary School.  I am looking forward to meeting the Washington students and families as we begin the 2016-17 school year.  Our goal at Washington is to help all students feel welcome, connected, and supported in reaching their highest potential.

At Washington, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage students in learning.  The teachers utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and set appropriate goals for student growth and improvement.  We believe that by working together all students can be successful.

I hope you find this handbook helpful and informative.  We will also be updating our school website and sending home monthly newsletters to keep you informed.  Please feel free to call (872-2000) or stop by the school if you have any questions.  I would also like to invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTO, and attending and supporting school events.

I am honored to serve as the principal of Washington Elementary School.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.

Once again, welcome back!  Let’s make this a great year at Washington Elementary School!

Gayle Kendall, Principal
